In addition to the home inspection itself, there are often other tests and evaluations a homebuyer may want to obtain that exceeds what is required by the State of Connecticut for home inspectors.  Most good home inspectors surpass these requirements but there are certain tests that are optional or need more specific evaluation from a specialist in any given field.  We have already discussed some information on wells, septic systems and wood destroying insects in this tour.  Of the topics below, Schaefer provides several options for Radon testing, which our office staff will help you with when you call to book your inspection. The other topics below are subjects that some homebuyers feel beneficial to have evaluated but these require specialist if the evaluation is to be done properly (See "Our Services" concerning these inspections). Click on the topic and it will open a page for you from our technical archive of past newsletters on the subject.
