The first thing that needs to be done in the inspection process is to choose an inspection company and possibly a specific inspector.  Then you must schedule a date for the inspection that falls within the time frame specified in your contract with the seller of the home. 

This should be done early enough within this time period to receive and review all test results and address any problems with the seller if necessary.
