Environmental Testing
In addition to general residential and commercial property inspections, Schaefer Inspection Service offers a variety of environmental testing that can be customized to your specific needs. Below, you will find a list of each additional service we can perform. Our team performs these tests in accordance with the highest industry standards.
Radon in Air
Continuous electronic monitor.
Provides hourly radon and carbon monoxide readings, as well as hourly temperature, barometric pressure, and humidity levels to show fluctuations in the test environment as interpretive information.
Well Water
If your property has a well, the following testing of the drinking water quality is also available:
Standard Profile
Determines general water quality and potability by testing for common chemicals, bacteria, and the physical parameters of the water.
Elevated radon in water can contribute to the radon-in-air levels of a home, as well as contribute to stomach and other health issues.
Any elevated levels of arsenic or uranium would deem the water unsafe.
Determines if there is lead in the drinking water.
Well Flow Test
Determines the capacity of the well measured in gallons per minute (GPM) over a period of one hour to make sure the well is producing enough water to sustain the household.
Mold Testing
Our standard inspection will note of areas of visible moisture intrusion. However, mold is present in all homes. Air sampling is an add-on service that provides detailed information regarding the type and quantity of mold spores present in the home.
Schaefer Inspection Service will take 3 air samples. One will be the exterior as a baseline and 2 additional samples will be taken inside the property at the apparent areas for presence of mold.
Samples are submitted to the laboratory and a written report of results will be provided.
Crumbling Foundations
