What a Sewer Scope Camera Inspection Reveals:

This is a limited visual investigation of the accessible portion of the inside of the main sewer line performed for informational purposes only.

Root Intrusion

Tree roots are the #1 cause of sewer failures in Connecticut. It is important to identify an intrusion early before it becomes a blockage.

Pipe Pitch and Sags

Improper slope causes waste to pool. The video will flag bellied sections that lead to recurring backups.

Cracks and Fractures

Older clay or cast-iron lines crack over time. The goal is to locate fractures and assess severity before they become full failures.

Joint Separation

Settled ground can shift pipe joints apart, allowing groundwater infiltration and root entry points.

Blockages and Buildup

Grease, scale, and debris buildup restrict water flow.

Pipe Material and Age

Orangeburg, clay, cast iron, and PVC each have different lifespans. The investigation will identify what you have and its current condition.

The Inspection Process

A typical sewer camera line inspection takes 45-60 minutes, and can be added to a home inspection or scheduled as a standalone service.

  1. We access the cleanout
    • The technician locates the sewer cleanout (typically at the foundation or yard) and inserts a high-resolution camera into the lateral line.
  2. Camera travels to the Sewer Main
    • The flexible camera advances through the full run of pipe (whatever is accessible), recording HD video the entire way. Narration of key findings is provided as the inspection occurs.
  3. Findings reviewed on-site
    • You (and your agent) can watch the live feed.
  4. Camera Video uploaded to your portal
    • You will receive the video that was taken at the inspection alongside your full inspection report on your portal shortly after the inspection concludes.
