Rob Barakat

Rob Barakat is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) who serves as the Structural Engineer with Schaefer Inspection Service. Based in Connecticut and a proud graduate of the University of Connecticut, Rob brings expertise in evaluating the integrity and stability of structural components, including foundations, framing, beams, columns, and posts. His background allows him to provide clear, thorough assessments that give homeowners, buyers, and real estate professionals the confidence they need to make informed decisions.

Rob has developed particular expertise in inspecting crumbling foundations related to pyrrhotite deterioration, an issue affecting many homes in the region. His inspections are detailed, well-documented, and supported by photographs, helping clients understand both current conditions and the best path forward.

Outside of work, Rob enjoys biking, playing pickleball, and following his favorite teams—the Red Sox, the Steelers, and UConn Basketball.
