Residential Inspections

Schaefer Inspection Service provides homebuyers throughout Connecticut with  inspection services necessary to make an informed purchase of a home or property. Schaefer inspectors are licensed with the state of Connecticut and follow the Connecticut Home Inspectors Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. Schaefer Inspection Service also offers environmental testing to custom fit your home inspection needs.

The inspection includes a complete inspection of all visible and accessible structural and mechanical components of the home. We provide a certified Wood Destroying Insect Report, an NPMA-33 form with each of our residential inspections. Our inspectors will observe for signs of infestation, damage, or past treatment from wood-destroying insects. We will inspect the systems of the home, as noted below, looking for systems nearing the end of service life, functionality, and safety issues. We will carefully observe for signs of water intrusion. The report will include pictures of issues found in the home and will note problem areas with a recommended action statement.
